I love jackdaws; they’re extremely intelligent, extremely sociable birds and I always think they sound like they’re enjoying a good chat. In these times when we’re so restricted socially, I like watching them nattering together in cosy groups.
Jackdaws lift gossiping from the rooftops
As I walk beneath.
Wings black against the gloaming
As they fly away to their tea time roost,
Their prattle echoing down the chimneys.
