Trying out a new gift

The moment has come;

I push my bare feet into the snowy cushion,

The white, fluff-lined, virgin plush of

Brand new slippers.

Toes huddle like children

Among the softest tendrils

And rest in their cosy bed

Tucked in for winter

Delightfully snug.
